Robin Barclay
I’m Robin Barclay, one of two managing directors at Flamingo Exterior Cleaning. Flamingo was incorporated in 2019 as a result of two businesses coming together with the vision of providing a one stop shop for all exterior cleaning needs and providing a premium, modern service in Central & Southern Scotland.
I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of business and the freedom to make important decisions. I enjoy planning, creating systems, branding & marketing and I also find it rewarding to lead a team, manage schedules and solve problems.
Something nobody knows about me is – When I was 10 I wrote a poem for a primary school project which was later published in a paperback compilation. The poem was called Crazy Crashing Cars.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, we spent time volunteering and helping with cleaning in public places such as doctors surgeries, hospitals, public transport hubs etc. with the aim of reducing the risk of infection for the most vulnerable in our community. Our efforts were documented by BBC, Good Morning America, ABC1, FR24 as well as the majority of print media in the UK. In early 2021 we were awarded the Business Hero Award 2020 by The Duchess of Edinburgh in recognition of our efforts.
Flamingo offers a wide range of services such as window cleaning, wheelie bin cleaning, roof cleaning and render cleaning as well as more bespoke services such as carpet cleaning, grafitti removal and chewing gum removal.
