Isabel runs ACTG alongside a volunteer committee. The basic operation of the training group is to facilitate health & safety training for the employees of their membership. Whilst COVID allowed construction to continue, unfortunately many of our members having fallen victim to the lack of available skilled tradespeople, the reduction in general construction programme if works and of course the current financial crisis. This has resulted in a reduction of membership of around 15% in the last 2 years. The training group team are looking to develop their groundbreaking #operationsignpost liaising with local schools and colleges to try and create a culture of construction for everyone. We are looking to build on our skills demo day held in ayr academy last year and develop a suite of mobile rigs to take practical experience of various trades around the county. Watch this space in 2024.
