The relaxed setting created the perfect atmosphere for conversation, allowing long-standing members to reconnect and new faces to feel instantly welcome. Business Club Ayrshire enjoyed another engaging and informative meeting recently, featuring two excellent member presentations that showcased the strength and diversity of expertise within the group.

The first presentation was delivered by Andy Kerr of KRB Group, who provided members with an overview of his business and the services it offers. Andy shared valuable insights into the work KRB Group undertakes, highlighting its commitment to quality, reliability and building long-term client relationships. His presentation sparked interest and discussion among members, with many appreciating the practical perspective and real-world experience he brought to the session.

This was followed by a presentation from Isabel McNicoll of ACTG. Isabel spoke passionately about her organisation, outlining its mission, core services and the impact it has within the community. Her presentation gave members a clear understanding of ACTG’s work and values, and demonstrated how purpose-led organisations can deliver meaningful results while supporting sustainable growth.

Both presentations reflected the collaborative spirit of Business Club Ayrshire and reinforced the value of member-led sessions. Martin also highlighted Hood Academy, the company’s apprenticeship initiative fostering the next generation of skilled tradespeople, reinforcing the importance of investing in people and future talent.

Business Club Ayrshire members enjoyed a fantastic Christmas Night Out, bringing together great company, festive fun, and well-deserved celebrations. The evening began at Golf X Ayr, where members embraced some friendly competition and plenty of laughter in a relaxed and social setting. It proved to be the perfect way to break the ice and kick off the night, with everyone getting into the Christmas spirit.

Following the golf experience, the group made their way to Vics and Vine in Prestwick for an excellent meal. During dinner, members were treated to the club’s awards presentations, recognising achievements, contributions, and commitment throughout the year.

The night was a great success, offering an opportunity to unwind, connect, and celebrate another positive year for Business Club Ayrshire. It was a memorable evening that truly captured the spirit of the season.

The tour highlighted Burnhouse Engineering’s commitment to precision, innovation and high-quality workmanship, with Chris explaining each stage of their manufacturing process and the diverse range of projects the team supports across multiple sectors.

A standout moment was the unveiling of their newly installed, state-of-the-art laser cutting machine. Chris demonstrated how the technology enhances accuracy, increases efficiency and opens new opportunities for bespoke engineering solutions. Members were able to see the machine in action and gain a real appreciation for the skill and investment that drives the company forward.

The visit showcased a thriving local business at the cutting edge of modern engineering, and members left with a deeper understanding of the expertise based right here in Ayrshire.

At our recent Business Club Ayrshire meeting, we were pleased to welcome member Brian Wade for an engaging presentation on his business, Funktional Print. With over 30 years of commercial experience, Brian specialises in helping organisations grow through smart, creative and impactful printed marketing.

Funktional Print offers a wide range of products including brochures, leaflets, business cards, exhibition displays, banners, menus, promotional items and branded stationery. Brian also showcased the company’s bespoke hot foil and finishing services, which allow clients to create memorable printed pieces with a touch of luxury.

What stood out was Brian’s emphasis on print as a practical and cost-effective tool that continues to drive visibility and customer engagement. His approach focuses on understanding each business’s goals and designing print that truly works.

Business Club Ayrshire members Flamingo Exterior Cleaning have been inducted into the Prestige Awards Hall of Fame after winning 'Best Exterior Cleaning Company ' 5 years in a row. After scooping this year's award at Edinburgh's Village Hotel, the business, based in Ayr, join a select group of companies to have achieved hall of fame status and the first from within the cleaning industry.

Company Director Robin Barclay explained, 'It's always nice to be recognised for our efforts and hard work. We're truly humbled to have won this award again and be inducted into the hall of fame. The industry is so competitive and the process of being selected for the award is eye opening. I strongly believe we wouldn't have achieved any of this without our incredible team who have shown tremendous amounts of dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm. This award is a reflection of their positive attitudes to work and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our customers receive the best possible service.'

Following this, William Gemmel of Gemmel Wealth Management offered an engaging session on financial planning and wealth management, highlighting ways businesses and individuals can secure long-term financial stability.

Members appreciated the clear, actionable advice from both speakers, sparking lively discussion and the exchange of ideas. The meeting reinforced the club’s commitment to fostering professional growth and collaboration across Ayrshire.
